Workshop on Risk Mining 2006 (RM 2006)

- Data Mining for Detection, Analysis and Utilization of Risk Information -

December 18, 2006

Scope of workshop :
The organizations in our modern society become large and complex to provide more advanced services due to the growing variety of social demands. Such organizations are highly efficient for the routine work processes but known to be weak to control unexpected matters.  According to this observation, the importance of the organizational risk management has been noticed in recent years. On the other hand, the accumulation of a large amount of data on the work processes is  going on under the introduction of information technology to the organizations. This data can be used to efficiently manage the risks in the organizations. This workshop focuses on the data mining techniques to detect and analyze the risks potentially existing in the organizations and to utilize the risk information for better organizational management.

This workshop is proposed to bring together researchers who are interested in both of the areas of data mining and risk management, and to have intensive discussions on various aspects on the data mining based risk management.
