For Matsue City
Matsue City is a very old city with population of about 200,000. The city is located in the western part of the main island of Japan, known as the San-in area. Access to Matsue from larger cities, such as Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto, is not difficult.
The San-in area is strongly related to the establishment of ancient Japan. Indeed, there are many historical ruins and shrines here, and the majority of Japanese myths originated in this area. In addition, the city is famous for the beautiful views of Lake Shinji, traditional Japanese culture, abundant sea food and many other points of interest.

Climate
In the south of Shimane Prefecture is the central Japan mountain range, with level country scarce in the thin belt stretching from the north-east to the south-west. Particularly in the western end of the Prefecture the mountains rise from very near the coast. Endowed with a true abundance of nature, Shimane's expression changes gracefully with the seasons. In spring, cherry blossoms, azaleas and tulips are in full bloom, and in summer the lush green mountains and blue sea captivate those who visit. Autumn's changing colors bestow a profound peace on the mountains, and winter covers the same peaks in a white blanket of snow, while cheers of ski-goers can be heard from the slopes.
