Research Themes

(Fujitani Group) Elucidation of pathogeneses and development of treatment for neurological disorders

(Yokota Group) Elucidation of the neural circuits that control autonomic function

Details

The Fujitani Group aims to elucidate the pathogenesis and develop treatments for various psychiatric and neurological disorders (neurodevelopmental disorders, neuroimmune diseases, peripheral neuropathies, etc.). Using animal models and disease-specific iPS cells, our research focuses on various histological abnormalities (e.g., changes in axon initial segment, abnormalities in the blood-brain barrier, abnormalities in muscle stem cells). The Yokota Group is studying the morphology and function of the neural circuits in the Central Nervous System that control autonomic functions such as respiration, sleep, and feeding.
