Respiratory Surgery

Research Themes

  • The development of a lung transplant preservation method using Gapmer Model antisense nucleic acid (scientific research fund).
  • The development of a new treatment by intracorporal lung perfusion method for malfunctions detected after lung transplants (scientific research fund).
  • Randomized controlled tests (STEP UP) for regional removal and lobectomies in non-small-cell lung cancer at clinical stage IA3 (multi-facility collaborative research).
  • Research related to the development of minimally-invasive, highly-safe treatment methods using robotic surgery.
  • Research related to participatory clinical training towards the cultivation of human resources to be based in community medicine.

Details

We conduct research, using animal models, on lung impairments, acute rejection and chronic rejection that occur post-lung transplant. Clinically, we have actively implemented robotic surgery by Davinci, and hope for its expansion.
Also, in the area of human resource training, we incorporate the Yanegawara style and participatory-style medical care to create educational environments that enable effective clinical study.
