Overview

Indroduction

Pharmacology is a branch of the basic medical science concerned with the study of the interaction between medicine and body.

More specifically, it is the study of biological and/or physiological effects of the medicine on body,
organ, tissue, cell, gene, or molecule during the process of pathogenesis in diseases.
Results of research done in the laboratory provide the knowledge to the establishment of
pharmacologic treatment as well as apply the drug discovery.

Our lab has focused on inflammation which causes several diseases including bowel disease,
cardiovascular disease, and thrombosis. We are trying to reveal molecular mechanisms and
pathophysiology of these diseases for the development of novel pharmacologic treatment.
Our lab has conducted the following research projects.

1. Analysis of how oral microbiome affects systemic disorders
2. Elucidation of leaky gut syndrome and the discovery of therapeutic targets
3. Role of the cell-cell interaction in the function of endothelial cell
4. Mechanobiology of vascular endothelium

We are participating in the education of medical personnel who will sustain local health care. Everyone is always welcome to visit and/or join our lab.
