Shimane University- A big canvas of science and nature

Hello, I am Hoque from Bangladesh. I’m in the 2nd year of my Master’s course, but actually I’ve almost completed it now that I finished the final presentation for my thesis yesterday.
My major is Immunology, specializing in Cancer Immunotherapy to treat pancreatic cancer. After getting my Master’s degree, I’m going on to do a Ph.D. course here to study my field more deeply.
The two-year study and research have laid a solid foundation in science for me. I believe that the similarities between my hometown and Izumo contributed a lot to it. Because both are located in the countryside and share the same rustic atmosphere, I feel at home and can concentrate on my work peacefully. I even call Izumo my second home now.
Although Izumo has a lot of things in common with my hometown, the way of life is quite different, such as how to dispose of garbage or the transportation systems. How civilized and organized people in Izumo are!! I sometimes realize their lifestyle is influencing my way of thinking and acting little by little.
Shimane University will be my second closest university after my alma mater in Bangladesh. So, I really hope it will keep providing cutting-edge techniques for young researchers and stand out from the rest of the world so that, in the future, I can be proud of having studied here for 6 years.
Finally, this is my comment to those who are interested in studying here as a graduate student.
Nowadays, Shimane University is playing a key role in the International Research sector. So, without any hesitation, you can choose this University to pursue your goals in the Master’s or Ph.D. course.   Prestigious professors, the stimulating research environment and beautiful scenery will welcome you.
