Pharmacology

Research Theme

Pharmacology is a branch of the basic medical science concerned with the study of the interaction between medicine and body. More specifically, it is the study of biological and/or physiological effects of the medicine on body, organ, tissue, cell, gene, or molecule during the process of pathogenesis in diseases. Our lab has focused on inflammation which causes several diseases including bowel disease, cardiovascular disease, and thrombosis. We are trying to reveal molecular mechanisms and pathophysiology of those diseases for the development of novel pharmacological treatment.

Details

Our lab has conducted the following research projects.

  1. Investigation of oral bacteria-mediated systemic diseases
  2. Elucidation of leaky gut syndrome and discovery of the therapeutic targets
  3. Role of the cell-cell interaction in the function of endothelial cell
  4. Mechanobiology of vascular endothelium
  5. Establishment of pharmacological training simulator by virtualization
