Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery

Research Themes

  1. Clinical study of endoscopic nasal surgery
  2. Development of pharmaceutical treatment for sensori-neural hearing loss
  3. Development of an adjuvant that makes Sublingual Immunotherapy more effective for Allergic Rhinitis
  4. Clinical evaluation of a multidisciplinary approach against head and neck cancer
  5. Development of an infection-controlled clinical environment in the post-corona and with-corona era

Details

  1. We conduct clinical studies towards the amelioration, function preservation and improvement of surgery results in endoscopic nasal surgery for Chronic Sinusitis and Cranial Base Lesions.
  2. Research on the drug delivery system into the inner ear towards the materialization of pharmaceutical treatment for sensori-neural hearing loss, as well as investigation into its application for treatment.
  3. Sublingual Immunotherapy for Allergic Rhinitis is garnering attention, yet even though the treatment takes several years, the efficacy rate remains at 70%. We aim to establish a more effective Sublingual Immunotherapy by demonstrating a modified approach (modifying the mechanism, shortening the time it takes for expression of effect, effect reinforcement) using a Toll-like receptor-mediated adjuvant.
  4. Clinical studies towards the improvement of results of multidisciplinary treatment for head and neck cancer. Also, investigation into tumor markers useful for early diagnosis and treatment of patients of head and neck cancer.
  5. Development of a device specific to upper respiratory tract treatment in the area of Otorhinolaryngology that also works to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
